Come join us for the 2021 Timeless Turkey Trot! Predict your 5k time and win a turkey! This is not your ordinary 5k! This is a 5k with a twist! During registration, you will predict your 5k time. The top 20 closest times will receive turkeys!Gates open at 9 a.m., Race starts at 10 a.m. There will be food and beverage vendors from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. There will also be other local vendors with giveaways, products for purchase, and information!A few things about this race(the rules and stuff!)Race starts at 10 a.m.No GPS devices, tracking, or cell phones are allowed during the race.The course will not be revealed until the day of the race (November 20). Predicted times will only be accepted during the registration process and cannot be changed. Strollers are allowedWell-behaved, LEASHED, vaccinated dogs are allowedAll runners must be on the course by 10:15 am.Must be present to win. Winners will be announced at approximately 11:40 am.Prediction Time InformationWhen you fill out the registration page, there will be a question asking your predicted 5k time. You will enter your time in hour: minute: second format. For example. If you predict your time will be one hour even, it will look like this: 01:00:00. If you think your predicted time will be twenty four minutes and ten seconds, it will look like this- 00:24:10 or this- 24:10. If you have any questions about this or anything else, please email [email protected]. Register by November 10 for a guaranteed shirt! The shirt will be a long-sleeved hoodie! All participants will receive a custom medal and sticker.Registering after November 10 will not guarantee that you will receive a shirt. Limited quantities available. Packet Pick-UpPacket pick up will take place on Friday, November 19 from 7 a.m.–7 p.m. at the Intramural Sports OfficePacket pick-up on Nov 19 is HIGHLY encouraged. The lines can get long for same day registration. Weather: We run in rain, shine, or snow 99% of the time. However, in the case of severe weather and the course becomes inaccessible and/or pose a major safety danger to participants, the race may be postponed or cancelled. Those attending the event assume the risk of injury as a result of inclement weather Parking: No parking in residential/base housing/neighborhoods on Fort Carson. Parking is free, space is available on a first come, first served basis. All personnel must park in designated parking areas. Parking in prohibited areas will result in a citation and the vehicle being towed. Please follow the signs for designated parking areas. Physical Security/Other: FULL LIST OF PROHIBITED ITEMS AND BAG POLICY APPLIES 100% random personal property inspection in effect. No firearms and/or weapons allowed. Privately owned drones/UAV's are not allowed. No bikes/scooters/hover boards/skateboards/rollerblades allowed Traffic: Please observe posted speed limits. RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT By entering and participating in this Fort Carson DFMWR event/program/activity, you consent to the following: I desire to participate in this Fort Carson DFMWR event/program/activity. This is an event/program/activity hosted by the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation. I expressly agree that I, myself, my heirs, personal representatives, and assigns, hereby release and discharge, and agree to hold harmless and indemnify, the United States Government, the United States Army, Fort Carson, Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, Sponsors, Donors, and their officers, agents, and employees acting in their official capacities, from liability and from any and all claims for any illnesses, injuries, loss, death, or damage, whether latent or patent, which may occur as a result of my participation in any of the activities that are offered as part of the program/event/activity, or occurrences incident thereto. I agree to comply with all safety instructions and requirements. I expressly assume all inherent, known or foreseeable risks and dangers involved in participating in the described activity.
