Beekman Mansion Garden tour for Leatherstocking MGVs This is a special opportunity for MGVs of Herkimer, Otsego, Schoharie, and Delware Counties to tour the grounds of the Beekman 1802 mansion gardens. Gardener Shana Clark (a MGV herself) will give us a behind the scenes tour of the property, which is only open to the public for occasional special events. She will take us through the large raised bed fruit and vegetable garden, which yields an abundance of produce for the owners and their dear neighbors. There is also a large Proven Winners ornamental installation in front of the mansion that must be seen before the frost puts it to bed for the year. https://www.provenwinners.com/node/422028 There also numerous beautiful plantings around the property, and of course...adorable goats! A picnic lunch from Brimstone Bakery (chicken or falafel) is included. Please reach out to Carla ([email protected]) if you have any dietary restrictions. The regular price for a private tour and lunch is $50, but we will offset the costs for active MGVs from our counties to reduce the price to $35 plus nominal Eventbrite fees of $4 ($39 total). We are offering a limited number of full-priced guest tickets as well ($55). We will meet at the Mercantile in Sharon Springs at 10:30 a.m., and caravan to the farm at 10:45 a.m.
