A restful time away for participants in 3DM Learning Communities and the 3DM Network and their spouses. 3DM Northeast Senior Leader and Spouse Retreat Tuesday, 9:00 AM July 26-Thursday, 8:30 PM, July 28, 2022 340 Back Rd, Alfred, Maine Come and join us for a fantastic time away in beautiful southern Maine with other leaders who are part of 3DM Learning Communities and part of the 3DM Network! If you are married, come with your spouse for this time of refreshment and renewal. We will be gathering each morning and evening at the Mueller family home - otherwise known as The Gathering House. We will spend our mornings together. Afternoons are free for you to explore all the beauty that southern Maine has to offer! We will gather again each evening for dinners. The mornings will include worship times, teaching input, and processing in Huddles, followed by lunch. This will be an excellent opportunity for spouses to connect with others who are on the same journey and get some first-hand experience of the discipling culture and missional families we are seeking to build. Individuals are welcome to attend as singles or without your spouse and families can bring kids (see below). Each afternoon you will be free to enjoy the exceptional beauty of the area. Our home has a swimming pool to lounge in, or you can take out kayaks/paddleboards through the waterways right from the dock in the backyard. For those who want to explore, Maine beaches are within 30 minutes. There are quintisential New England coastal towns also within 30 minutes with galleries, shopping, restaurants and beaches. Downtown Portland boasts of breweries, restaurants on the Pier, and shopping galore in the Old Port area right on the coast. You might want to take yourself on a nearby lighthouse tour! OR, book a private charter sail boat cruise with our friends and see Maine from the ocean with a lobster roll in hand - see the add-on ticket for this reservation! Each evening we gather back at The Gathering House to enjoy dinner together. Some may stay for a bonfire and enjoy the sunset over the water from the deck. Over the three days we spend together there will be significant input and meaningful interaction with plenty of time for rest and recreation. The cost of the retreat, including all the lunches and dinners for three days, is $160 per couple or $80 per individual. All participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses. Our times together in the mornings are only for the adults, but we would love for the kids to join us for lunch, hang out at the pool or on the water in the afternoons, and join us for the dinners. For those with younger children we are planning to organize childcare in the mornings nearby for a reasonable fee. Let us know if you will need childcare and for how many kids. We encourage you to consider adding extra days to your visit to explore the area and make a longer vacation out of your trip! Portland International Airport (PWM) is a half hour away from our home. You may wish to explore coastal Maine, head up to Acadia National Park, or explore the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
