A three-course meal with an interactive and educational experience comparing wines from California and Texas. “Come and taste it!” Celebrate Texas...and California, at the Hillside Texas Bistro with our Come and Taste It: Texas Versus California Wine Dinner. Join us for an interactive and educational experience that will immerse you in both the world of wine and food from California and Texas. The evening will begin with a welcome reception where guests can mix and mingle with food and wine lovers alike as they sample our infamous Texas-sized charcuterie board featuring house-made jams, cured meats, and cheeses. The Hillside Texas Bistro has composed a three-course meal with dual appetizers comparing the flavors and cuisine of both California and Texas. Wine will be flowing all night long, while guests enjoy carefully selected wine from each state paired with each course. Guests will experience a blind tasting as they compare the two wines and will be asked to vote which one they prefer. After dinner, guests are invited to stay for live music and a full-service bar. Additional bottles of each wine will be available for purchase to be consumed on-site or to take home. Western and California wear highly encouraged. The ticket price includes three courses: dual appetizers, an entrée, and a dessert along with wine pairings with each course. Event Schedule 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Check In and welcome reception 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Wine Dinner and Tasting 9:30 p.m to 11:00 p.m. Live Music and Bar SUMMARY A three-course meal with an interactive and educational experience comparing wines from California and Texas. A reception with a complimentary welcome drink and charcuterie sampling begins at 7:00 p.m, followed by a three-course meal and interactive blind wine tasting at 7:30 p.m. with live music. Live music and a full-service cash bar until 11:00 pm. This event will be hosted on the Arbor and Terrace overlooking the Medina River Valley. Tickets are $85.00 per person. SEATING This is a communal seating event, meaning multiple parties will be seated at the same table unless a group buys out a table. There is only one seating time. To ensure a group sits together tickets must be purchased together or guests must choose the same table during ticket purchase. Each table can sit up to 10 comfortably. If members of your group purchase tickets separately you must email [email protected] with each guest's first name and last name AND CONTACT NUMBER, in order to be seated together. Hillside can not guarantee a group sits together if they purchase their ticket separately. We will try our best to accommodate. FAQS: Is this a reservation only event? Yes, reservations are required prior to the event. Closing date for ticket sales is October 6. After this date you can not add to your reservation. What is the cancellation policy? Reservations must be canceled by Saturday, October 2, without penalty to receive a full refund. YOU MUST SUBMIT A REFUND REQUEST THROUGH EVENTBRITE or by emailing [email protected]. If guests cancel after this date there will be NO refund. If a guest does not show up they do not receive a refund. Will my seats be together? Seats are guaranteed to be together if you purchased them together in a group. If tickets are purchased separately you must email [email protected] with the first and last name of each guest in your group along with a contact number. After we receive your email we will contact you directly to confirm seating arrangements. We will try our best to accommodate. Will you have anything else to drink besides wine? Yes, we will have a full-service cash bar for those craving anything from a craft-beer to an old fashion. Where can I find the wine that was sampled? We will be offering exclusive wines not available on our regular menu or easily available at grocery stores. Don’t worry, we will offer the wines featured for sale to enjoy on-site or to take home and enjoy. How much wine is included? Upon check-in, guests will receive a welcome glass of wine. During the event guests will receive 2 wine tastings with the appetizer. During dinner guests will be given 2 wine samples. Guests will choose which wine they prefer, and will then be given a glass of wine to accompany their dinner. Dessert will also have one glass of wine. What is the reception before dinner? The reception before dinner is your chance to mix and mingle with food and wine lovers alike. Upon check-in you will be greeted with a full glass of wine and our infamous oversized charcuterie board. Sample house-made jellies, cured meats and more while you begin the journey to the California vs Texas wine dinner. What if we want to hang out after dinner and enjoy more wine? Our casa es tu casa. We personally invite every guest to stay after dinner to enjoy live music, the beautiful event space, and full-service cash bar. The event space will be open until 11:00 p.m. What if I have a food allergy? Due to the size of the events and the number of people being served, our chefs cannot make accommodations for food allergies. Can I show my tickets on my phone at the door or do I need to have the physical tickets with me? Either one will work! We will have a guest checklist, but you are more than welcome to print, or show the tickets on your phone. What is the parking situation? Guests are invited to park at the Hotel and Texas Bistro. Additional parking is located behind the hotel. Parking is complimentary. What is the dress code? We know you work hard and want to come and enjoy wine, good food, and good company, right? Well, why not do it in style? Rally up your group and add a little fun to our Cali vs Texas theme with your best western wear or beach wear. But hey, at the end of the day, we all just want to have fun. We will not be enforcing a dress code. Can children attend? No. This is a 21 and up only event. What if it rains? What’s your weather policy? This event will be hosted outside on the arbor and terrace. If the weather during an event would be dangerous, the event would be cancelled. If a little rain joins us for an event, we will still be there and the food and drinks will taste just as good. In the event of inclement weather the event will be moved inside to our Ballroom.
