SHREWSBURY, MA — The Shrewsbury School District has seen 18 positive cases of COVID-19 during the first two weeks of school.
The 18 cases are "among the approximately 6,800 students and staff in our schools," School Superintendent Joe Sawyer reported in a Sept. 10 letter posted to the district website.
The district will be publishing a COVID-19 data dashboard every week on Monday with detailed information about cases in the schools, Sawyer told Patch.
The town has seen 57 new positive cases of COVID-19 between Sept. 3 and Sept. 10, according to the town's website. The numbers are updated every Friday.
Since mid-August, the Board of Health has been "highly recommending" that masks be worn in indoor spaces throughout town.
The City of Worcester's Department of Health & Human Services has been offering clinics throughout the City including at the Worcester Public Library, located at 3 Salem Square, and Edward Kennedy Community Health Center, located at 19 Tacoma Street. No appointment is necessary.
