Description
MILFORD, MA — Starting next week, Milford-area residents won't have to drive as far as either Worcester or Leominster to access Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) services.
Starting Monday, residents will be able to make appointments at the Milford RMV office to get driver's licenses, ID cards and other vehicle services. The Milford office will also accept walk-in customers, according to the state.
The service expansion is part of a larger RMV restoration of service. Milford and 20 other RMV offices across the state will expand on Sept. 20. Transportation officials are still recommending that drivers make appointments before heading to an RMV office.
The RMV cut most services in Milford at the beginning of the pandemic due to safety concerns. In recent months, the office has only been open as a drop-off site for vehicle registrations. Another nearby RMV office in Natick that closed in March 2020 will remain closed.
