Press release from the City of Boston: September 15, 2021 March 2020 was an unprecedented time for Boston and the entire country. It was also the starting point of the City's fourth cohort of Boston Artists-in-Residence, or Boston AIR for short. In this fourth round of the program, a cohort of five local artists and five City departments were chosen to collaborate and reimagine a more equitable Boston. They each represented different backgrounds and artistic practices, and used their experiences to help City departments reimagine policies and processes in creative ways. This resulted in five distinct projects that aimed to improve the wellbeing of Boston residents and create positive change within City systems. We created a year-in-review document to highlight each artist and their City partner, and the incredible work they've done through the Boston AIR program.
