Join us at Marble Springs State Historic Site on Sunday, November 7th from 10AM-1pm for a special Introduction to Broom Making Workshop. Students will make a primitive cobweb broom in the traditional style. This lightweight narrow broom is great for reaching all the places cobwebs can be found- Great for sweeping the ceiling too. These brooms are functional but make great decorative items and great gifts! In this workshop we will learn the basic weaving techniques used to make a broom, with natural broomcorn (sorghum tassels) No experience is required for this project. All materials provided! Everyone will go home with at least one completed cobweb broom. Our instructor is Dustin Cecil, owner of Broomtown, which provides amazing handmade brooms, sweepers, and cleaners! Check out his Etsy store here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/broomtown To register for the Broom Making Workshop, please find tickets on Eventbrite. Tickets are $50 for Members and $60 for Non-members of Marble Springs. Gates will be open 9:30 AM.
