We are looking for a general Auto Body Shop Mechanic/ Technician to assist the shop with repairing and painting of foreign and domestic vehicles. Work experience is necessary, schooling and certification will earn you more pay. Diagnostic and vision abilities required, including close, distance and color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. You should have a valid driver license and DMV printout is necessary for hire. A criminal background check will be required of successful candidates. The more tools, the better. It is assumed the technician will have his/her own tools. However, the shop provides normal and heavy-duty equipment to assist with the job. This position is full-time and our shop hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 6:00pm, and Saturdays 8am - 1pm. Job Summary: State Motor City, a Fredericksburg Virginia based used car dealership, is in need of an experienced and thorough Automobile Body Shop Technician for our collision repair department in Fredericksburg, VA. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing company inventory vehicles, including inspecting, identifying, preparing estimates, and repairing damaged vehicles. Main Responsibilities: Autobody Technician will be responsible to fix cars after they've been damaged in accident or other incident, able to use wide array of tools to cut off old parts, connect new parts, fill holes, repair scratechs, dents and dings and make the care look as good as new. Be Able to look at a damage vehicle and assess what it will take to repair as well as cost Requirements: ▪ High school diploma, preferred ▪ 2-4 years of proven experience, as auto body shop technician ▪ Welding, auto repair, ▪ Clean, valid driver's license (no previous DUI history, moving violations or criminal history) ▪ Self-motivated, dependable and strong and honest work ethics ▪ Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals, etc ▪ Excellent health and physical condition ▪ Vision abilities required including close, distance and depth perception ▪ Ability to lift and walk long distances Others: Clean Driving Record, At Least 21 Years Old, Ability to Stand, Walk and Frequently Stoop, Kneel, Crouch, Bend, Squat and Climb. Ability to lift 15-45 pounds, manual dexterity, repetitive motion tasks. Regular exposure to toxic chemicals and moderate noise level.
