Via Stamford Public Schools STAMFORD, CT — Stamford Public Schools (SPS) recently announced the appointment of three new assistant principals in the district. Christopher Knight and Thomas Agosto are the two Dolan Middle School assistant principals, and Jennifer Laughlin takes up the position at Turn of River Middle School, according to a news release. Knight fills the position recently vacated by the transfer of Crystal Perry to Stamford High School as assistant principal. The second position at Dolan, as well as the added assistant principal at Turn of River, were created as the result of a recent budget reallocation, replacing the teacher leader for student support positions with certified assistant principal positions, the school district said in a news release. Most recently, Knight served as teacher leader for student support at Dolan Middle School and district content leader for music. Previously, he was a music teacher at Stark Elementary School. Knight holds a bachelor's degree in music education from SUNY Potsdam, a master's in music education from the University of Bridgeport and a Sixth Year Degree in educational administration and leadership from the University of Bridgeport. Agosto most recently served as dean of students at Stamford High School. Previously he was a school counselor at Westhill High School, director of Students for Future 5 in Stamford and a youth development facilitator in the Peace Corps in Costa Rica. Agosto holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Connecticut, a master's in school counseling from Fairfield University, and a Sixth Year Degree in education administration and leadership from Sacred Heart University. Before taking the assistant principal role, Laughlin was the teacher leader for student support and administrative intern at Turn of River. Previously, she was an English teacher at Westhill. She holds a bachelor's degree in communicative disorders from the University of Connecticut, a master's in education from the University of Bridgeport and a Sixth Year Degree in education administration and leadership from the University of Bridgeport.
