GROTON, CT — Portia Bordelon is the top vote-getter after the Democratic primary election for a seat on the Groton Town Council with 970 votes, according to Groton Town Clerk Betsy Moukawsher. Ten candidates competed for nine spots on the council for a two-year term, Dec, 7, 2021 to Dec. 5, 2023. Candidate Conrad Heede was the one candidate that did not make the cut. "The results tonight show that my advocacy resonates with families all across Groton," Bordelon posted to Facebook. "I look forward to working with my colleagues on the current council to continue to improve our town and rebuild our Democratic Party to better reflect the ideals of inclusion, equity, and diversity which make me proud to be a Democrat." 1.
