Press release from Waukee Community School District:
Sep 15, 2021
It was a day of preparing for the future. Waukee's School-to-Work program held their annual Professional Skills Workshop on Wednesday. Students participated in mock interviews, took professional headshot photographs and networked with potential future employers.
"I knew that this was something that matter to me in the future," says Colson Thayer, a School-to-Work senior. "Employers are going to look at this. Colleges are going to look at this. They've heard about Waukee's School-to-Work program and they know these skills are going to stay forever."
A special thanks to the DMACC Career Discovery Network and Palmer Group for sponsoring the event. Students from Norwalk, Dallas Center-Grimes and Johnston also participated in the event.
