Oakland CA

Description

Hello 👋 We are a serious up-and-coming group based out of Oakland, CA that kicked off our career mid 2020. You are a music lover looking to find your place in the industry who is willing to learn about the music business to grow your skills while helping a group meet their goals.  You don’t need much experience but you are sharp, willing and ready to learn to help with the tasks outlined below in order to run a business with a fun loving and determined group. Apart from our music that we confidently stand behind, our biggest asset as a group is that we are completely devoted to this project and have been since 2017, spending countless hours each month working toward manageable goals with a bigger picture in mind. We have reached the point of momentum where even though our current band leader/manager spends 40-80 hours a week on this project, depending on the season, we still have too much to do with all the rad projects we have going on. More about us: Find our music on all platforms or through www.badcamper.org  We released our first album in August 2020 and we have our second album recorded. Currently we are looking for a manager to help assist our bandleader/manager with the business side of things as we prepare for marketing, promo and content creation for the second album and tour in 2022. We do all of our production, promotion, marketing, booking, merch ourselves like a small record label but outsource to a few firms that help with radio, press and other campaigns. Our ideal manager would be quickly learning how we do things and getting into all of this with us ASAP. We have played in 20+ states with fans all over the country eager to see us live and have been diligent in tracking our fan base during our promo campaign and previous tours to allow us to continue routing successful tours as well as online direct marketing campaigns such as our album fundraiser and subscription service "Only Campers" More about you: -Tech savvy enough, ready to learn and employ industry standard skills such as Photoshop, FB/Youtube ads, basic video editing, web design, social media management, sound/lights, booking, promo, direct marketing, pitching, publicity, networking, etc -Are fun and outgoing, love sharing music with strangers and talking with them in person -Reliable and humble, knowing the professional and personal limits of your commitment -Must be self motivated, clear headed, keeping track of your personal duties -Are excited to be a part of a group with a bright future This is a paid gig - we aren't making big bucks yet but if you want to sign a contract with us, you will be paid a flat fee until we’re grossing more and then can take a percentage of the group's profit. For example: $400-600 a month depending on experience as we get our gross up then until 5,000 a month then 10-15% of gross income (excluding some expenses like, tour support, marketing support, tour expenses) BONUS if you are able to work as a tour manager we are also hiring for this position -Know how to be respectful, easy going and adaptable on the road and while couch surfing (being well-traveled is a big plus!) -Respectful of others' gear/belongings while loading/borrowing and financially responsible for damage or loss -Are a patient and safe driver with a license and insurance -Down to commit to several weeks of touring per year nationally, in Europe, plus local weekenders in CA without being entirely dependent on the band for income. If you work full time you must have the flexibility to leave work for minimum two week increments several times a year. Otherwise freelance online side hustles that can be done from the road are a must unless you want to hustle extra hard with us to sell merch -Most importantly you have to be into this music otherwise the passion isn't there This is a paid gig - tour manager will be paid a flat per show fee In other words, if you want an epic experience, to meet amazing people, and help a fun band with bright prospects grow then THIS IS FOR YOU. -to be considered, in your reply please tell us about your experience around music/music industry and what moves you about our music- Thanks for your time =] -Fish and Celia
