ASBURY PARK, NJ – The Sea.Hear.Now festival is returning to the boardwalk in Asbury Park this weekend after missing last year due to COVID-19. The festival is being headlined by Pearl Jam, The Avett Brothers, and The Smashing Pumpkins and will be bringing thousands of people into the city this weekend. In advance of the festival, city officials have made multiple road closures and parking restrictions to help with traffic. In addition, the fisherman's parking lot on Ocean Avenue has been closed since Sept. 11 and will be closed until Sept. 23 for festival setup and breakdown. The festival is sold out, but late-night shows are happening Friday and Saturday nights at Asbury Park staples The Wonder Bar and The Stone Pony. The Friday night shows are White Denim at The Wonder Bar and Jesse Malin and Friends at The Stone Pony. The Ocean Avenue Stomp with the Tangiers Blues Band and special guests are playing The Stone Pony on Saturday post-festival and Reignwolf at The Wonder Bar. For those attending the festival, proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test was taken within 72 hours of the festival is needed to attend the festival, which will also feature art exhibitions, a surf contest, and alcohol and local food vendors. For more information about the festival, you can check out the Sea.Hear.Now website.
