Looking for equal split to rent a house

Have to move, the owner is selling this rental house. But with rents going sky high, by myself I don't think I can afford a place. But with someone to match my rent amount we could probably afford a decent place. I figure a $1000.00 each should get a nice place. I'm a 64-year-old man, for now, I'm alone but may have a friend stay in the future. I do have pets, but my dogs "don't" bite. There sweet loving guys. If we can get a big enough place, we might not even see each other. lol
