JOLIET, IL — A 26-year-old Joliet man who was riding around the city's near west side with a loaded gun and a satchel containing individually wrapped little bags of cocaine and Fentanyl was arrested by Joliet police's overnight patrol unit, authorities announced Wednesday. Around 2:30 a.m. Joliet's Ivan Moffett was booked into the Will County Jail on charges of being an armed habitual criminal unlawful of a weapon by a convicted felon and possession of controlled substances with intent to deliver, Joliet police said. Moffett lives in the 100 block of Fifth Avenue, jail records indicate. Overnight patrol officers pulled over a car near North Bluff Street and Western Avenue because the driver made an improper turn, police said. Moffett was a passenger in the car. "Upon a pat-down search of Moffett, officers recovered a loaded .40 caliber handgun from his pants," Joliet police indicated. At the time of Moffett's arrest, Joliet officers recovered several individually wrapped bags of suspected Fentanyl and cocaine from a satchel bag that Moffett was wearing, police reports show.
