BURR RIDGE, IL — A Burr Ridge man was taken to jail last month after he struck a woman at his house, police said.
Jay Dalal, 40, faces two counts of misdemeanor battery. The incident happened about 8 a.m. Aug. 24 in the 900 block of Falling Water Drive East, police said. It is in a neighborhood with many $1 million homes.
Patch obtained the police report on Dalal's arrest, though much of the information was blacked out.
When police arrived, they entered through an unlocked back door. They encountered a man in the hallway, and then they knocked on a bathroom door. A woman holding a small boy opened the door and identified herself, saying she was the victim, police said.
The woman told police she did not want to sign a complaint against the man, saying she just wanted him out of the house, according to the report. Officers saw bruising on the back of her right leg above the knee, police said.
Both the man and woman told officers their stories, which were redacted from the report. The officers then decided to arrest Dalal.
Dalal was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
