TUCSON, AZ—The Arizona Game and Fish Department is seeking information after a mountain lion was found shot in Tucson last week, multiple media outlets report.
KVOA reports a Tucson resident saw the mountain lion walking near her house Friday morning.
The big cat was found north of Orchard River Drive and Glenn Street and had left a blood trail about 200 yards long, Tucson.com reports.
The mountain lion had a gunshot wound in its chest. It was a male between 18 months and 2 years old, the AZGFD told KVOA.
The Associated Press reports the big cat was euthanized, as it was not likely to survive its injuries.
