Description
PHOENIX, AZ — Mark Brnovich, the attorney general of Arizona, announced his office reached a settlement with StubHub over events that were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This includes almost $2 million in cash refunds and more than $250,000 in account credits, according to a news release.
The ticketing company had refused to refund customers for events that were canceled during the pandemic, which went against its "FanProtect Guarantee," according to the news release. Instead, they offered customers credits for future events. Brnovich's office said more than 6,100 Arizona customers were affected.
Arizona, nine other states, and the District of Columbia pressed the company to give customers their money back.
StubHub agreed to honor its refund policies, not change refund policies for purchased tickets unless the consumer consents to account credits, and promptly process refund requests it receives from consumers going forward.
Customers who believe they may be entitled to a refund and who have not be contacted by StubHub may contact StubHub at (866) 788-2482 or the Arizona Attorney General's Office.
