Hello Portland Craigslist… I swore that I’d never be back, that I’d never post again, but here we are. As the title says, I’m a disillusioned post punky solo artist based out of Portland who records music onto tape in my bedroom that no one listens to. And that’s fine, the market is flooded and I’m not interested in recognition or making music my career, let’s be realistic. But I am interested in sharing and performing live. I draw heavily from the DIY cassette culture of the 1980’s with Post Punk, Synth Pop, Power Pop, Psychedelic Rock and Jazz all being major influences. Here’s what I want: A) Live performances B) Share with a wider audience Here’s who I’m looking for: A) Plays an instrument with some level of proficiency (drums, bass and synth to the front) B) Not a complete psycho C) Actually wants to take this seriously and also have fun If my overt cynicism hasn’t driven you off already then consider listening to my music to see whether we’d be a good fit for one another. I’ve tried attaching links to my Spotify, Bandcamp, YouTube and SoundCloud profiles but my post gets banned whenever I do that so just type Dizzy Toxo into any of those streaming services and you’ll find me there. I’ll be frank, my hopes of this post yielding anything fruitful at all are about as low as they possibly could be and I’ve had overwhelmingly negative experiences with Craigslist, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
