The recall made the dems stronger and it exposed several weaknesses waiting the Republican Party. With the 2022 election just a year away, Newsom is a lock for another 4 years. CA is bluer than ever. For the last few years, the democratic party gets stronger and stronger while the republican party remains divided ab out their leadership. Arnold won the recall against Grey Davis for several reasons. Arnold is a MODERATE republican. Arnold also has star power. But most of all, Grey Davis was incompetent. Newsom is not.
