Arnold won the recall against Davis. As we see, Elder lost the recall against Newsom. Why did thew recall not work for Elder. Arnold is a moderate republican. Elder is a Trumpist and an extremist. Arnold is big on combating climate change. Elder is a climate change denier. People tend to trust Arnold. Most people do not seem to trust Elder. Arnold is charismatic and respected. Elder is meek and does not command much respect. Atrnold appeals to ALL republicans and many democrats. Elder does not appeal to most republicans. Elder only appears the most extreme right wingers. Arnold brought a positive message. Elder brings messages of doom and gloom. Most of all, Gray Davis was un qualified. Incompetent for the job. Gavin Newsom is not only qualified, he has decades of experience in politics.
