re What's The Matter With Democrats

Description

The "communist" rhetoric is not new. When I was a teenager in those sixties you speak of, John Birchers used to sell their hate and decry the deadly fear of communism. Even the FBI of those day were communo-phobic. Today, the words are empty. Just as Hoover could have finally come out; no one is a "closet" communist anymore. Those who are communist plainly say so. I crack up when the other "boogeyman" phrase is hurled that we are "socialists." If so, we had ample opportunity to elect one president. TWICE. Both failed. So much for Democrats being socialists. Moderate Democrats and Republicans are indistinguishable save less than a handful of issues. The one thing I will give you is fifty years ago, politicians worked across the isle, formed alliances, compromised. Sadly, the ill informed, uninterested electorate find such governance boring and become non involved. There is such a rift currently in the Republican Party that a person like Donald Trump was able to march right up through the middle and win. It would be akin to if Ms. Pelosi lost her iron grip on the Dems and Ocasio-Cortez or Tlaib became president. I dare say you would be a bit miffed. What it overlooks, however, is your denial to recognize that three quarters of the Republican party hated Trump. They tried to deny the will of the voters at their Republican Convention and put forth a different candidate! Real Democrats don't hate Republicans, just as real Republicans have no hate towards us. We are all American citizens, with slightly different visions on how to get to where we are trying to go.
