Hi there! My name is Billie. I’m a beautiful 1.5-year old German Shepherd mix and am looking for my forever home. I am super intelligent but equally clumsy. I spend my days Scooby-Dooing around corners, napping, and awkwardly trying to be a lap dog, but what I really enjoy most is food. You will need to watch what I eat or I will get fat. Did someone say TREAT? I have had a rough start in life. I was abandoned in the Eastern WA desert as a puppy, and then I was adopted but given up (see below). My tail was broken at some point when I was a pup, but my rescuers don't know how. Now I have a funny kink at the end but it doesn't seem to bother me much. I am fully grown, about 45-50 pounds, and am spayed. I can sit, lay down, shake and stay. I am not a fence jumper and I do not run away from my humans. I do great on a leash and love to go for walks, hikes and jogs. I get the funniest butt wiggles when I'm excited. I am always happy and will do anything for a treat. Wait, did someone say TREAT? In my foster home, I live with an adult cat, 2 little dogs and 1 big dog. I get along well with all of them but the grumpy little terrier isn’t too crazy about my energy and enthusiasm. I would do best in a home where I am the only dog (or maybe have a big dog sibling...dog-confident cats are fine), and I get daily walks. I haven't been around little kids yet but I would do totally fine with bigger kids. One thing to note - my new home should have a fully fenced yard, free of chickens. My former owner gave me up because I got one of his chickens. I didn’t mean to be naughty, it was just a completely natural dog instinct. I promise I have never harmed anything in my foster home.
