Service Technician Wanted for Well-Established Testing and Certification company (Full-Time, Salaried) If this posting is up, the position is still available and we are still accepting resumes. Do you want to work from your own home? If so, this position may be for you. About the Company: TechScan, Inc is an established, respected cleanroom and laboratory testing company. We've been in the business since 1984. It is located in Buda, Texas. The company specializes in the testing of medical devices, cleanrooms and lab equipment. We cover 6 states altogether. About the Position: Cleanroom Service technicians will contact customers in their areas and schedule work to be performed onsite, create reports and invoice the customers. A college degree is not required for the service tech position, but a high school diploma is required. General knowledge of HVAC and electronics preferred. A clean work history, a clean criminal history, and a clean driving record are a must. You must be able to pass a background check to gain access to military installations and government facilities. Must pass a background check and drug test. Must have a positive and cooperative attitude, be self-motivated and be willing to travel to different cities daily. Experience with computers (Excel, Word, Outlook, mechanical drawings) and an interest or knowledge in HVAC, bio-sciences and medical technology are required. This position will be based out of the Austin area. About the Interview Process: A proficiency test may be given for general technical knowledge and related math. Work Hours: Monday through Friday, from approximately 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some time may be spent working or driving in the evenings, as needed, but it is not very frequent. To start out there will be approximately 1-2 days of overnight stay and once you are fully trained (6-9 months) and when you get your own vehicle, approximately 2-3 days of overnight stay per month on average. Required Qualifications: Self-motivation High-school diploma or equivalent Genuine interest in medical technology and interest in working in high tech cleanrooms and lab environment. Understanding of basic math, electronics, HVAC and computer skills. Ability to be a self-starter and very dependable is a must. Good work ethic. Ability to work cooperatively with others in a small-company environment. Ability to provide excellent, consistent, customer service and work directly with department and facility directors. Desired Qualifications: Vocational degree or other post-high school technical education. Experience working with HVAC and electronic airflow devices. Prior experience working in a regulated environment (GMP, FDA). Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, especially CAD. Major Duties: Contact customers and schedule their inspections. Prepare weekly expense reports. Make all travel related reservations. Order supplies related to specific jobs. Maintain company vehicle. Prepare, complete and review service reports and relay to customers daily. Order repair parts for defective equipment. Some occasional heavy lifting. Interact directly with customers via phone, email and in person. Maintain and send out equipment for calibration at required intervals. Document and record keeping organizational skills. Assist with sales and marketing efforts as needed. Interact with and provide detailed and accurate information to Accounting personnel. Maintain a safe and positive work environment. Attend continuing education classes annually. Compensation and Benefits: - Pay is $40,000/year to start. $45,000 after 90 days - 90% Paid Insurance after 90 days. - Employees eligible for retirement benefits after 180 days. - 1 week vacation after 1 year. - Per Diem for all overnight business travel. - Company vehicle and all necessary equipment provided.
