Description

I breed socialized companion pigeons, but need to downsize my loft due to medical issues, so I introduce to you, Rook; a two year old racing homer/feral mix who was bred by a socialized loft in upstate New York. He's a proven male and was an amazing father to my personal companion pigeon. Rook is a blue bar with both the dirty and pied genes, which makes for a striking, dark colored bird with white flight feathers on one side and a white saddle marking. He's a bit on the flighty side but incredibly intelligent and food motivated (black oil sunflower and lentils are his favorite treats.) He probably will never be a cuddly bird but he may warm up to that point witb the right owner. His mate of two years was taken to a vet for humane euthanasia earlier this year and he's been lonely since. I'd prefer he goes to a home with a lot of time for him or to a loft where he'd be able to socialize freely. There is no rehoming fee as long as you can pick him up and provide pictures/information of how you'd like to house him. He doesn't come with an enclosure but I can send along some seed and grit with him if needed. If at all possible I'd like an update or two on his wellbeing after he settles in his new home. If you have any questions please let me know. I also have other birds available but Rook finding a home is most important to me.
