Local Driver Needed for Steel Fabrication Shop. All Driving will be in Portland Metro Area/SW Washington Responsible for delivering structural and miscellaneous steel products, picking up materials and will calls for orders placed by Project Managers and the Shop Supervisor(s). Must be customer service oriented and willing to put in extra hours and time as needed to make schedules, must have a clean drivers record and a positive attitude. Driver Tasks • Prepares truck for operation by inspecting general condition; checking fluid levels and tire pressure; obtaining or scheduling required repairs; validating adherence to road ability standards. • Assist in Shop when there are no deliveries or will calls (cleaning, handling materials, grinding, helping wherever needed) • Maintains safe operation and clean appearance by complying with organization operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well as state and local driving rules and regulations; cleans truck exterior and interior. • Maintains truck operating efficiency by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; scheduling repairs. • Make Deliveries and Pick Up Orders Placed by Project Managers, Office and Shop Supervisor(s) • Loads truck by ordering, placing, and securing items. • Delivers items by identifying destinations; establishing route; operating the truck; maintaining schedule • Serves customers by understanding and resolving or forwarding complaints and/or concerns. • Updates job knowledge by participating in training opportunities • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. • Track and maintain supplies for shipping – strapping, pallets, dunnage This is a full time job with excellent benefits. Knowledge of DOT regulations & rules and paperwork is a plus. CDL is not required. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DOT PRE JOB PLACEMENT DRUG TEST & PHYSICAL.
