Need a dog in my life

My dog passed a year ago. He was well into the double digits. I still grieve him, the pain and loneliness is still fresh, but I'm ready for sharing my life again. I am a senior citizen on paper, but not in every day life. I'm also on social security which makes it impossible to purchase a dog at these extreme prices people are charging. I can insure a safe, secure home, with guarantees of proper guidelines, nutrition, training and health and well being. I'd prefer a small breed because my place is pretty small.
