FACILITY MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – Leland Gardens Apartments, Plainfield, NJ ** FULL-TIME 8:00 – 4:30 / 40 Hours Weekly ** GREAT BENEFITS: including 15 Days Paid Time Off first year and 12 paid holidays. The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for indoor and outdoor maintenance at Leland Gardens Apartments in Plainfield, NJ (256 Units). Candidates must be skilled in drywall repair, painting, light plumbing, basic electrical, basic carpentry, and flooring; HVAC experience helpful. Position is also responsible for grounds maintenance and snow removal. Must be able to adapt to changing work priorities. Must be self-motivated and enjoy working independently as well as on a team. Must have good communication skills for timely follow-up on work orders with team members. Strong customer service skills required and experience needed to interact with residents, contractors, fellow team members. Must be available for emergency on-call hours on a rotation basis when scheduled; will be responsible for snow removal when needed. Reliable transportation and valid drivers' license desired. Requirements SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE (required skills): • Minimum 2+ years prior maintenance skills -- drywall repair, painting, light plumbing, basic electrical, flooring, cleaning and general maintenance repair skills; HVAC helpful or will train. • Prior apartment or home repair maintenance skills helpful. • Minimum High School diploma/GED required. • Ability to assist with on-call resident emergencies with team members when assigned and must be able to respond to calls within 30 minutes when scheduled for on-call coverage. • Ability to work occasional Overtime when needed/scheduled. • Must be able to lift a maximum of 100 lbs. on occasion with frequent lifting, carrying up to 50 lbs. • Must have reliable automobile transportation with valid driver’s license and valid auto insurance for getting supplies when needed, assisting at other properties when assigned, etc. • Will be responsible for assisting with snow removal during the winter months.
