Description

Join Columbus Gives Back in volunteering at this friendly competitive FUNdraiser for the Furniture Bank of Central Ohio Our friends at the Furniture Bank of Central Ohio are putting on their 2021Bed Race on October 2nd, where participants race and raise funds for our neighbors in need of furnished homes. At the Bed Race, teams can show off your speed (and creativity!) as they dress up, decorate, and race a wooden bed across Easton Town Center - all to help put local kids into beds and off of floors! More importantly, funds raised can directly provide furniture to a local child and family in need. So join us on Oct. 2nd to restore homes and race for the title of BED RACE CHAMPION! What: Volunteers will be prepping racers and returning beds (consider joining the CGB race team here) Where:  Easton Town Center, 160 Easton Town Center, Columbus, OH 43219 When: Saturday, October 2nd 7:30 AM - 11:00 AM (consider joining the CGB race team here) Event Leaders: [email protected] COVID-19 Precautions: Columbus Gives Back is following all recommended social / hygiene protocols. Masks are no longer required for outdoor events but please bring one to the event in case our nonprofit partners require them. Masks and social distancing are still required for all indoor events. If you were exposed before or test positive after having participated in a CGB event, please contact the event leader or reach out to [email protected] so that we can best support contact tracing efforts. About the Furniture Bank: The Furniture Bank of Central Ohio helps 23 Families EVERY DAY. By working with agencies and non-profits, the Furniture Bank helps people affected by homelessness, mental illness, and lack of sufficient employment. To keep pace with the need, our showroom changes over every day. More than 300 pieces of furniture are given away every day with many families selecting up to 20 pieces of furniture on their visit. The average family receives up to $1,400 worth of goods from the Furniture Bank. About Columbus Gives Back: Columbus Gives Back coordinates group volunteer events with local non-profits, organizes philanthropic happy hours to raise support and awareness for our non-profit partners, and participates in other philanthropic events while emphasizing our social twist: to have fun with volunteers new and old during and after events in the hopes of creating a culture of community engagement amongst our target audience of young professionals. #SocialTwist: We have begun re-introducing social twists, where we invite volunteers to hang out with us after an event to have fun doing something local! As of May 1st, outdoor/patio social twists will be coordinated at the discretion of event leaders and volunteers. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your event leader or [email protected]. Columbus Gives Back- Service with a Social Twist!www.columbusgivesback.org
