Enjoy a combination kayak and bicycle excursion along the scenic Erie Canal between Brockport and Holley, New York. The free 2.5-hour excursions are 3 miles by kayak and 6.75 miles by bicycle. We will provide the kayak, bicycle and accompanying equipment. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes or sandals that can get wet and bring your water bottle, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a small drawstring bag or backpack to carry them in. Local refreshments will be offered at the Holley Canal Park spillway and once the equipment is turned in participants will receive a coupon for a local restaurant. Excursions start and end at the Welcome Center (11 Water St.) in Brockport where there is municipal parking. They will either start by kayak from the Welcome Center to Sans Souci Park and then by bicycle to the Holley Canal Park spillway and back to the Welcome Center. Or they will start by bicycle from the Welcome Center to the Holley Canal Park spillway and back to Sans Souci Park and then by kayak to the Welcome Center. Kayaks will be launched via the adaptive kayak dock and the boat launch. Afterwards, stop in at a local restaurant and explore what Brockport, an historic canal village and home to SUNY College at Brockport has to offer. Excursions are open to participants age 12 and up. If under 18, you must be accompanied by an adult.
