RCRJC is excited to host Toby Walker on November 5th for a concert benefiting our organization! About Toby: Internationally and nationally acclaimed Toby Walker has been hailed as an award winning, roots music fingerstyle guitar virtuoso and songwriter who has toured the world. Blending the styles of blues, ragtime, country, bluegrass, old-time jazz and rock, Walker has his own style and as such received numerous awards, including being the 1st place recipient of the International Blues Challenge Award in Memphis and the NY Music Award for best instrumental CD. Walker has also been inducted into the NY Blues Hall of Fame. Walker is a nationally recognized guitar instructor, having taught at Jorma Kaukonen's Fur Peace Ranch, Woody Mann's Guitar Seminars, The Swanannoa Gathering, and the National Guitar Workshop. Walker also has eight instructional DVD's on Happy Traum's Homespun Music Instruction and has produced hundreds of instructional videos on his own. We proudly host: Diversion, Tamarack, Youth Substance Awareness Safety Program (YSASP), Driving with License Suspended (DLS), Pretrial Services, Balanced & Restorative Justice (BARJ), and a Social and Emotional Course taught in schools. While our parent name is Rutland County Court Diversion & Restorative Justice Center, Inc., we now operate under the name of Rutland County Restorative Justice Center. By doing business under this name, we hope to reflect the expansion of our sponsored programs as an indication of our dedication to our community. Our funding comes from our partnerships, the state, program participation fees, and donations of caring community members.
