Join us on Sat. October 23rd for our 1st Annual Bikers Against Cancer Poker Run benefiting Cancer Kinship. Hosted by Pierson's Services. Calling all riders and motorcycle enthusiasts who have been touched by cancer! Ride to support our cause! Did you know that more than half of cancer patients report feelings of dread, hopelessness, fear, depressive symptoms, and suicide ideation within the first year of diagnosis? Suicide risks can be up to 13x higher than the overall population - even when treatment is working! The emotional and psychosocial needs of the growing cancer community are growing. The National Cancer Institute predicts that by 2030, the cancer survival rate will increase by 35 percent to over 20 million individuals. Prevention and research efforts have increased long-term survivorship (which is great news for cancer patients, survivors & thrivers), but unfortunately this has led to an agonizing and life-altering personal experience for many. But there is hope! You are invited to support Cancer Kinship's mission work. Your ride registration will support Cancer Kinship's programs and services to help cancer patients navigate the treacherous cancer storm that ensues after hearing the words, "You have cancer." Cancer Kinship guides cancer patients and survivors of all cancer types and stages, from initial diagnosis, through treatment and post-cancer recovery. We help patients regain control of their lives and well-being and aid in reducing cancer recurrence risks by addressing cancer’s emotional and psychosocial impact, which directly affects quality of life and long-term health outcomes. But we can't move our mission forward without your help! We need help raising awareness and raising much-needed funds. Here are a few ways you can help! Participate as a rider!
