Description

Construct your own 2m/70cm hard wire dipole antenna to improve the range of your HT or augment your mobile radio station. Using the materials we will procure from your ticket purchase, you will do the following under supervision: Cut PVC pipe to specific lengthsDrill five holes in the PVC using a cordless drillRemove shielding from RG-8X Coax cable with a utility knifeAdd terminal end connectors to both the exposed center wire and braid using a crimping toolFix terminal end connectors to the PVC using screws, washers, nuts and a screwdriverMark and cut wire to specific lengths using wire cutters and a rulerAttach your antenna wires to the appropriate screws on the PVCHave your antenna SWR checked to confirm proper operating ratios LIMITED TO TEN ATTENDEES ONLY!! This is an outdoor public park in San Bernardino County. Currently, no mask mandate exists and we will not insist on wearing PPE. If this concerns you, please do not plan on attending. We encourage you to bring your own water, snacks, sun screen, hat, folding chair or picnic blanket. We intend to occupy a specific set of tables at the northeast end of the park but because they cannot be reserved, we must prepare a contingency plan. NOTE: This is not an ACS, CERT, ReadyRC, City of Rancho Cucamonga or City of Upland sponsored event. Participants assume all risk and liability.
