The Salt and Pepper Roots Music Celebration starts off it's 6th Season with acclaimed singer-songwriter Pierce Pettis joined by Cash & Dobby
Pierce Pettis is an acclaimed songwriter with songs recorded by artists as diverse as Joan Baez and Garth Brooks and began his career as a staff writer for Muscle Shoals Sound Studios.
“Sometimes I have to stop listening to a Pierce Pettis track halfway through because he makes me want to give up on songwriting. Pierce is a master musical storyteller, delivering human truth and heartbreaking vulnerability with every tune. He’s also an unnecessarily virtuosic guitarist with the voice of some beautiful angel who also happens to be your old, familiar friend. All of it completely unfair.”
- Justin Paul, writer/composer "La La Land", "Dear Evan Hansen"
"...all Pettis has to offer is his earnest best, a tender heart, packaged in one three-and-a-half minute song after another."
-Jason Killingsworth, Paste Magazine
Joining Pierce will be an emerging young duo of songwriters that perform in a southern hip hop style of music, Cash and Dobby, the mainstay founding members of the group "Soul Karnival ".
Russell Gulley is a producer of audio, radio programming, arts in education programming, pubic performance events, and a veteran Muscle Shoals musician with national recording and tour credits.
