Applicant must be agreeable to comply with these measures in the workplace. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Plant Maintenance Technician job description: (part-time) Maintains interior plants at client business locations on a weekly scheduled route (currently 2-3 days per week); watering, pruning, cleaning, trimming, rotating; learn to identify and treat plant health issues; monitor appearance of each plant and notify Manager of replacements that are needed; install new and replacement plants; notify Manager of sales leads/new client interest at existing service locations. Skills / Experience Required: - previous experience at a nursery or interior plant design/maintenance is preferred (education in horticulture a plus!) - valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record - REQUIRED and WILL BE CHECKED WITH DMV - good communication skills - English as second language ok - motivated to pay attention to details and provide quality customer service - independent thinker: experienced with GPS maps, route planning, figure out parking, ask Manager when having trouble, etc - physically demanding work (including but not limited to) able to lift 30 pounds, carrying heavy water containers, moving large heavy planters/plants, stairs in office buildings, walking distances from car to service location - dependable trustworthy employee with positive attitude and clean appearance - Hayward/Castro Valley residents are desired Compensation: Hourly rate (based on experience) starting $16/hour, regular increases for excellent performance.
