As of January 30, 2021 there were an estimated 2,789 persons without a place to call home in Lee County. Due to the economic impacts of COVID-19, we have seen an increase in this number. People experience homelessness for a variety of reasons and for most it is temporary and resolved by regaining their health, finding a job or an affordable place to live. Many families with extremely low income live on the verge of homelessness everyday. Children who experience homelessness are more likely to have emotional and physical health issues. This traumatic experience has a profound effect on their development and ability to learn. No one is immune to this plight. It affects real people– families, children, veterans and the elderly. The Lee County Homeless Coalition is working to prevent homelessness whenever possible or otherwise make sure it is a rare, brief, and one-time experience, and we need your help. In accordance with IRS regulations, the Lee County Homeless Coalition is a not for profit organization and qualified to receive charitable contributions. Our FEIN is 26-4577956. We are a local agency; therefore your donation stays within the community. If you or your company is interested in participating in this worthy cause or making an individual or corporate contribution, please send checks payable to Lee County Homeless Coalition, Inc. and mail to this address: Lee County Homeless Coalition, Inc., 1500 Colonial Boulevard, Suite #235, Fort Myers, FL 33907. Thank you for your support! The mission of the Lee County Homeless Coalition is "to advocate, educate, and promote awareness of issues and obstacles facing homeless individuals in Lee County through community collaboration, planning, and implementing solutions.” We are a non-profit advocacy group made up of community and faith-based service providers, local businesses, people who are currently experiencing or who have experienced homelessness, and other advocates committed to ending homelessness.
