Waterway Cleanup on Kayaks in Fort Lauderdale Join us and do some good on Fort Lauderdale Make a Difference Day! For this special cleanup we will be cleaning local shorelines and waterways based on the map that will be shared. We encourage our strongest paddlers to take the waterway cleanup challenge and paddle from the launch site to George English Park, cleaning up along the way! There will be motorized boats assisting our paddlers on the way to the end point! Our cleanup will conclude with a gathering and awards ceremony for various categories including: those that collect the most trash, have the most volunteers, and have the most interesting item collected. Register and become a member which will include PWAP swag (a very cool PWAP t-shirt), a spot on a kayak and frequent updates on what's going with our organization, upcoming events, and donation-free access to future events! You will also be helping to support our mission and allow us to expand to new areas! Please help spread the word, bring your friends and neighbors! Please bring water, sunscreen, and closed toe shoes that can get wet. We will provide equipment needed to clean up the waterways including gloves, trash bags, pickers and buckets. Limited, hourly paid parking is available near the George English Park boat ramp or you can park for free at the Tennis Center and walk approx. 5 minutes toward the event location.
