NEWTON, MA — There will be a preliminary election for mayor in Newton on Tuesday, September 14. The preliminary will determine which candidates move on to the general election in November. Races with more than two candidates require preliminary elections, and there are currently three candidates for mayor in Newton. Who's on the ballot? Mayor Albert R. Cecchinelli, Jr. Ruthanne Fuller (incumbent)Amy Mah Sangiolo Where can I vote? Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Two of Newton's polling places have been relocated for this election. All other polling locations will remain the same as they were last year. The new polling locations are as follows: Ward 3 Precinct 1New Location: Nordic Hall at the Scandinavian Living Center, 206 Waltham St.Ward 8 Precinct 2New Location: Oak Hill Middle School, 130 Wheeler Rd.You can look up your polling location by clicking here and entering your address or using the searchable map.
