Team Mattei Places Second in Overall Relay for Tobay Triathlon

Dan, Daniel and Joseph Mattei of New Hyde Park recently took their talents to Oyster Bay for the Runner's Edge TOBAY Triathlon and Tri-Relay presented by Engel Burman where they placed second in the overall relay team category. On an overcast morning with periods of rain, more than 350 competitors tested their strength and endurance on the Long Island course which was managed by the Greater Long Island Road Running Club. The competition included a ½ mile swim in Oyster Bay Harbor, a 12.3K hilly bike ride through Oyster Bay and Oyster Bay Cove, and a 5K run past Mill Neck and Brookville. Dan Mattei, 60, Daniel Mattei, 19, and Joseph Mattei, 16, completed the triathlon in 59:18, earning a trophy in the overall relay team division, which consisted of 19 total teams.
