Have you ever wondered why Christians of various denominations and backgrounds don't gather together more often on the streets and beaches of the Santa Cruz area to sing & celebrate Gospel hymns to bless other people outside the local Church? In downtown Santa Cruz, for instance, we see Christian groups coming in from around the country and even around the world, and yet not so many singing gospel music from our own locality. Here are possible places to perform (with necessary permissions, when needed, of course): Capitola Beach, Boardwalk area, Santa Cruz pier, downtown Santa Cruz, etc. Hymns have a depth, breadth and beauty to them that are timeless, enduringly true and bring a great sense of comfort to many people. People need to hear them now, perhaps more than ever, for the comfort of the Holy Spirit that they give, especially now, especially now. Many have been given musical talents which need to be invested in the Kingdom of God. That is after all the purpose for which we are created &are given talents: to praise God, isn't it? Christmas is not so far away, and it does take time to harmonize musical presentations. Activities like this offer possibilities for developing your musical talents, gaining confidence in making public music presentations, and developing new friendships in Christian fellowship. Only a few unified folks are needed for this group. I'm John, a Christian singer/guitarist/pianist who has participated & lead worship in various places around the world.
