MILWAUKEE, WI — Milwaukee Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun announced Tuesday that he will retire from Major League Baseball. Braun said he felt gratitude and thanked his fans during a 1-minute, 20-second video via the team's Twitter page. "I've been incredibly fortunate to be joined by countless amazing teammates, coaches, support staff, friends and family for this incredible ride," he said. Today, more than 14 years after I first took the field as a Milwaukee Brewer, I've decided to retire. He hadn't played with the team since 2019. A ceremony celebrating Braun's career is to be held at American Family Field in Milwaukee on Sept. 26, which will be the Brewers' last home game of the regular season.
