"ANASTASIA" BACKDROP FOR PALACE AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMPROGRAM INCLUDES OPPORTUNITY FOR STUDENTS TO SEE SHOW WATERBURY - The Palace Theater is offering a six-week after-school workshop series, Journey to the Past: Music, Memory and Identity, an interactive language arts, music and theater appreciation program facilitated by professional teaching artists and guest speakers.Based on the plot, characters, and music of the Broadway musical Anastasia, this program will explore concepts of history, family, and personal identity, as well as the role that music plays in memory and connection with community. Journey to the Past is a grant-funded program sponsored by the American Savings Foundation. Twenty-five spots are available for interested middle and high school students (Grades 6-12). The program will meet in person at the Palace Theater, and social distancing protocols/mask wearing will be observed in accordance with Federal and State guidelines. The program will take place on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from October 4 – November 10. Participation is free and includes a complimentary ticket to the October 20 evening performance of Anastasia at the Palace Theater.
