Pedestrian Killed In Crash on Sunrise Service Road

BAY SHORE, NY - A 28-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed in a motor vehicle crash in Bay Shore early Tuesday morning, Suffolk police said. At about 4:15 a.m, a 22-year-old man was driving a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan on westbound Sunrise Service Road, approximately 500 feet west of Atlantic Avenue, police said, when his vehicle struck Andrew Taylor, of Bay Shore, who was "in the roadway." Taylor was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead. The driver was not injured. The van was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
