Description

4 bantam hens flock. All healthy, friendly and adorable! I am sadly needing to rehome my pet chicken flock. They have been well loved, happy, friendly pets and are all laying. They have been pasture raised, meaning free range in my yard their whole lives. Since I’ve had my baby it’s getting harder to take good care of them and spend much time in the yard and I can’t keep up. I want them to go to a new home where they can live the rest of their days and get more time with people around. I’m asking $50 rehoming fee because of the supplies I’m including and to make sure they go to a stable home. Though I’d prefer they be able to live free range I’m ok with them being in a pen if it’s large enough. Please let me know what the living situation will be like. Here’s details of the flock: 4 Batam hens, all laying, ages ranging from 1-3 years old. I average 3 eggs per day. 3 of the batams have hatched and raised chicks and are very good mothers, and the youngest is the baby one of the hens raised. All my hens are well socialized, nice to eachother and good with being around dogs and cats they know. I have had several other chickens come and go from my flock before and these girls are very welcoming and nice to newcomers, never seen them bully anybody. They eat out of my hands and each have different personalities which I will detail below. They go to bed pretty early at night and aren’t big on making much noise other than a short egg announcement. I rehomed their rooster a few months ago so they are used to having a roo take care of them but have been happy without one too. I also have chicken supplies I’ll send with them and a cage for transporting I’ll send with them. I’ve fed them organic feed and give them produce scraps and they also eat whatever they find in the yard. 1. Starla- splash bantam silkie. 2.5yrs old. I got her as a chick from a good silkie breeder in the area. She was hand raised so is very friendly and once I pick her up let’s me do anything to her. I trim her bangs so she can see better. She was the favorite wife of my rooster and had her hatch a few of her own eggs. Strudel is not her own egg but she laid on and hatched and raised her along with several others. She’s a great mommy and is very friendly to new chickens and shares all her treats. She’s always happy to see me when i come out to the yard when she isn’t trying to be broody. Never had any health issues. 2. Spinel- black bantam frizzle cochin. 2yrs old. I got her from another local breeder. She’s always been friendly, smart and a good layer with no health issues, and goes through broody spells. She has hatched and raised several chicks. 3. Cochella- white bantam cochin. 3yrs old. My aunt got her from a show breeder. When i spotted her from my aunt she made a secret nest under a shrub with about 25 eggs. She refuses to let any rooster mate with her but loves being a mother. She had hatched many chicks (including standard sized ones which quickly outgrow her, but she will still stretch her wings high to attempt to cover them) and even has adopted chicks. She was quite feral when I first got her but now happily hangs with the group. She had bad scaly legs when i first got her but haven’t had issues since I healed it a couple years ago. She has made secret egg stashes in hard to reach places on several occasions. 4. Strudel- black bantam, dad was silkie, (bio mom is Spinel but was hatched and raised by Starla) half frizzle cochin. 1yr old. She is a sweet, adventurous and friendly girl. She hasn’t been handled much because I haven’t needed to, but she always comes close to say hi and see what I’m up to and what treats i have to share. She is the biggest of the group but she’s still quite small.
