Arlington Firefighters Respond To House Fire, 3 People Displaced

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Fire and Rescue units responded to a house fire early Tuesday afternoon near Bluemont Park, according to fire officials. When fire units showed up at the home in the 5900 block of N. 3rd Street around 12:35 p.m., smoke and fire were coming from the attic of the house. The firefighters began extinguishing the fire in the two-story home as soon as they arrived and were able to quickly bring the fire under control, Lieutenant Nate Hiner, public information office for the Arlington County Fire Department, told Patch. No residents or firefighters were injured in the incident, Hiner said. "As soon as the structure is safe to enter, the fire prevention office will conduct a thorough cause and origin investigation to determine more details about the fire," he said.
