VA Men Face Gun, Drug Charges After North Jersey Traffic Stop

LEONIA, NJ — Two Virginia men are in Bergen County Jail after a traffic stop on I-95 led to gun and drug charges, the county prosecutor announced. Richards Avila and Hector Cedeno, both of Manassas, Virginia, were pulled over by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Narcotics Task Force on Sept. 8 while traveling on Interstate 95 North in the area of Leonia. The prosecutor didn't indicate why the vehicle was pulled over, but said members of the task force found an "an aftermarket electronic hidden compartment located in the center console." Officials found a drug press in that hidden compartment, as well as a handgun loaded with hollow nose bullets, the prosecutor said. Both men were arrested on the scene and taken to Bergen County Jail.
