By John Gibson, WNIN Sept. 13, 2021 Another COVID 19-related death was recorded in Warrick County, with more than 300 infections logged in southwest Indiana on Friday. The Indiana Department of Health announced the 173rd virus-related fatality in Warrick County, along with 44 new infections. More than 150 new cases were recorded in Vanderburgh, 38 in Gibson, 22 in Posey, 24 in Pike, 40 in Dubois, and 21 in Spencer County. Vanderburgh's seven-day positivity rate among individuals stood at 25 percent on the Friday dashboard. On a more positive note, nearly 200 more county residents became fully vaccinated -- raising the local total above 88,000. Across the 12-county district of southwest Indiana, the number of hospitalized COVID patients rose to 286. Statewide, another 22 COVID-related deaths were recorded, with more than 5,400 new infections. WNIN is the NPR/PBS affiliate in Evansville, Indiana.
