Construction Field Laborer

A.P. Thomas Construction, Inc. is hiring for a construction field laborer who is energetic and proactive to assist on-site at our projects. This is a great entry level opportunity with a mid-size contractor based in Sacramento. The construction field laborer shall provide support to the superintendents and the responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to the following: • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements • Daily clean-up of the construction site to maintain professional appearance • Assist superintendent in monitoring field activities and the construction site • Assist superintendent with daily and weekly project paperwork • Assist superintendent in checking in subcontractor’s employees to the jobsite • Assist superintendent with coordinating subcontractors to maintain the schedule • Assist superintendent with keeping the field office organized and maintaining submittals, requests for information and other on-site records • Manage the company inventory of tools and equipment • Check site storm water pollution protection is in place • Various errands such as pulling permits, picking up materials, checks, etc. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, basic math skills, ability to speak, read, and write in fluent English. Must have a clean DMV record and your own reliable means of transportation with the ability to drive between project locations. Construction knowledge, the ability to read construction plans, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe is a plus. The position is full time non-exempt, with benefits including medical, dental, long-term disability, life, 401K, two weeks paid vacation, paid sick leave and holidays. A.P. Thomas Construction, Inc. pays 100% of the premiums for the employee and 50% of the premiums for dependents on medical and dental. Work schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm.
