PALO ALTO, CA — A small plane crashed into the marshlands near the Palo Alto Airport on Monday afternoon, according to the Palo Alto Fire Department.
The pilot experienced mechanical failure and struck a power line during their descent before coming to a stop, the fire department said. It is uncertain how many people were on board, but the pilot did not sustain significant injuries, according to the fire department.
The plane was identified as a twin-engine Beechcraft Baron. The incident occurred around 1:50 p.m.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the incident.
